COMPARTE & EDUCATION
“Is this for me? – What makes young people participate” is a booklet developed within the scope of 15\25 Participa, an initiative in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Here, 51 Pros who were part of 15\25 Participa guide us through what “being young” means and the concerns and themes that drive them, as well as the “Participation Checklist”, a guide created through their experiences and recommendations about what works well regarding youth participation.

"Racial Discrimination in Schools – When we hear the experiences and recommendations of youth"
In this booklet, 19 young people from different origins travel through their daily life in school and share their experiences and recommendations about racial and ethnic discrimination. This booklet was developed as a response to a request from the High Commission for Migration and it is divided in: “Why and How? – Experiences of discrimination” ; “What now? – Consequences and strategies used” and “Recommendations from the Pros”.
“The beginning of many solutions? Getting to know each other better”, is a booklet that brings together experiences and recommendations from more than 400 Pros of Education on the impact that the quality of relationships has on learning. Here, you will find very useful tools for repairing and strengthening relationships between adults and young people. This is a booklet waiting to be widely read, put into practice and shared, inspiring many teachers and professionals in the areas of Education and Youth in Portugal.
“The Pros of Education Inspire”: In 2018, the first national booklet was published with a compilation of the experiences and ideas of the 2643 Pros who participated in the Citizenship Roadmap in Portugal. Going through the 100 pages of Pros quotes invites you to take a journey into the depth of their recommendations. A document delivered to the Secretary of State for Education and the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality that has been inspiring Portugal.
“ComParte & Education in the Citizenship Roadmap in Portugal”: In 2018, 50 publications were developed, corresponding to the number of schools participating in the Citizenship Roadmap in Portugal. The contribution of the Pros of Education thus reaches the boards of these schools, in a summary that mirrors what the Pros shared in the ComParte sessions.

ComParte Youngsters at the Pilot Schools: In 2015, the ideas of the Pros came in the form of publications, with a booklet being given to each of the schools that participated in the pilot project, in the Lisbon area. Thus, 7 publications were produced, involving a total of 590 Pros of Education, who were challenged to share their experience on various topics inherent to education with their school's management and direction.
COMPARTE & INTEGRATION
This booklet was created with the aim of carrying out a mid-term evaluation of the Program MEERU Aproxima and the impact of its Proximity Teams on the integration of refugee families (2022). It ends up exploring in depth the emotional experiences and the informal support network of these families, thus bringing clues that contribute as inspiration for the development of integration policies in the local and national system, through the activation of the civil community.
This booklet gathers the sharings and recommendations of 38 Pros of Integration about the Welcome Kit – a reception kit, developed and offered by the High Commissioner for Migration (ACM) to the majority of refugees and asylum seekers arriving in Portugal. It aims to contribute to an update of the current Welcome Kit (2022) so that it is more adjusted with what can make a refugee feel welcome in the first few days in their new host country.
“What is it like to start from zero?” is a booklet developed within the scope of Phase I of the National Mapping project (2020-2021), with the aim of portraying the experience of reception and integration of refugees all over the country. It portrays the experiences and recommendations of 60 refugees and asylum seekers, residing in Castelo Branco, Guimarães, Coimbra and Sintra, for local and national decision-makers and professionals working to continuously improve integration structures in Portugal.
As part of World Refugee Day 2021, ComParte listened to the Pros of Integration about their perspective on this day, with the aim of understanding what it means and how they consider it should be marked. To this end, we started with the word “refugee” and how they feel when they are treated like that. This preliminary publication brings together their sharings and reflections, aiming to inspire professionals and decision-makers who work with refugee people and who organize activities on this day to do so in a way that refugees feel that this day represents them.
The Impact of COVID-19 on the Integration and Reception of Refugees. In 2020, as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the social distancing measures implemented by local entities and the respective impact on social dynamics, a booklet was developed, where the Pros of Integration share their experience, focusing on challenges and reflections emerging in this social context, and present ideas to facilitate the integration of refugees in Portugal.
"Everyone taking part in the decision-making around hosting and integration in Portugal – Lisbon City Council": In 2018, following the meeting between the Pros of Integration, Lisbon City Council and other partners of the Lisbon City Council for Refugees (PMAR Lx ) and ComParte, a booklet was developed, where the Pros of Integration that arrived through this program share their experience of integration in Portugal and present ideas to facilitate the reception of refugees in Portugal.
"Everyone taking part in the decision-making around hosting and integration in Portugal – SEF II": In 2018 a booklet was developed with a summary of the perspectives of the Pros regarding the asylum process. This booklet was developed in the context of collaboration with SEF, being the second mid-term document to be shared with this administration.
"Everyone taking part in the decision-making around hosting and integration in Portugal – SECI and ACM": In 2017, following the meeting between the Pros of Integration, the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, the High Commissioner for Migration and ComParte, a booklet was written, in which the Pros of Integration share their experience of integration in Portugal and present ideas to facilitate the reception of refugees in Portugal.
"Everyone taking part in the decision-making around hosting and integration in Portugal – SEF I": In 2016, following the meeting between the Pros of Integration, the SEF management and ComParte, a document was developed with recommendations from the Pros for the continuous improvement of the process of reception and integration of refugees in Portugal.
